The hotel has an exceptionally long tradition in the district of Bolzano. It was first mentioned in the middle ages, under the name of Taverna Manschein (Moonlight Inn). Since 1798 has been owned by the Mayr family.

Its history also contains troubled moments, including after the Second World War in 1946, when it had to be rebuilt.

In recent years, the hotel has gone through a total renewal and refurbishment, to meet all modern, comfort-related needs.
